Ok, ladies. At 25 weeks pregnant I decided to put my money where my mouth is and did a quick 20 minute boudior session with myself. It was pretty comical, with me running back and forth to and from the camera, but I got some shots that I really LOVE! I've never really taken a picture that I've liked, and looking at some of these I actually can think 'hey, I look good!' Now, if I can do it, then so can you! I've had a lot of people asking me about Boudior photography lately. It makes me so excited! I love it when people show an interest in doing something so boosting for themselves. Let me tell you, a boudior session is probably one of the most fun things you can EVER do! Here is an ongoing list of questions that women have asked me about Red by Bree:

Q: What's the point of Boudior photography?
A: I believe that the entire purpose of boudior photography is to show a woman how truly beautiful she truly is. Every one out there deserves to feel more confident in their own skin and everyone needs to see how their body is beautiful just the way it is. I think that Boudior photography is a great way for women to gain a true appreciation for their body. And, it's also a fun gift to give to that special someone, or even just to yourself!

Q: Do you post everyone's pictures on your blog?
A: Oh heaven's no! Unless I have written permission from you, your pictures will forever remain your own. But honestly, I can't imagine someone not wanting to show off their pictures from one of our sessions together. ;)

Q:What if I don't have anything to wear?
A: Everyone has something to wear. Everyone. All you need is your favorite outfit or a favorite dress. Maybe even a cute pair of boyshorts and a tank top. Or a droopy knit sweater with a pair of underwear. Your husbands favorite team jersery... the list goes on! I especially love when women wear a dress shirt and tie from their husbands closet! So cute, and so fun! Still having trouble... give me a call!

Q: Does a Boudior session have to include lingerie or nudity?
A: Heck NO! You can wear whatever you want. It can me as modest or as revealing as you choose. I think that the reason the most popular Boudior photography shows women in lingerie is because that is what makes many women feel sexy and empowered. If you feel more confident in a dress, then bring it!

Q: Do you have a studio?
A: Unfortunately, not at this time. However, I am hoping to get one up and going within the new year. Spread the word about my photography, and it'll happen even sooner ;) As of right now, all sessions are on location. This can be in your own home/bedroom or we can go to a remote outside location (where no one will be able to crash your session).

Happy Veteran's Day

In honor of today, I decided to share some shots from a shoot that I had a while back with the wife of a veteran. Yes, she is young and so is he!
This country is as amazing as it is because of all the truly remarkable men and women who selflessly serve our country and defend our freedoms. I shutter to think where we would be without these people and their dedication. Thank you to all those who currently serve, and have served this wonderful country we call home!

Beauty is not in the face...

and it really isn't. All the beautiful people I know are truly beautiful because of who they are, on the inside... and not because they have a pretty face. Sure, you can have a drop dead gorgeous face, but what does it do for you? In order for our beauty to truly shine, it must first start in our hearts. Once that light is lit, there won't be a soul who can deny it. Your beauty will radiate for all to see. It starts on the inside.
Physical beauty has a way of getting you things, but inner beauty has a way of giving you everything you truly desire. Happiness, health, friendship, and love. Aren't those what truly matter?

What REAL women want to see...

It's always refreshing to see pictures of women that aren't edited in the typical fashion-esque way. You know what I mean, unblemished skin, digitally slimmed to the point of ridiculousness, digitally enhanced boobs, lips... everything. As if we women don't have enough to worry about on a daily basis without throwing our appearance in the mix! The last thing we need is to idealize women who don't really exist. All they are is an image... a figment of your imagination. We need more women who are proud and confident of what they look like NOW- not what they hope to look like in 6 months, as soon as they lose that last 10 lbs., with tons of digital enhancements and corrections, or covered in layers of black that "helps to minimize your figure". I want each and every woman, no matter her shape, size, age, or ethnicity to be proud of who she is. I want her confident in her own skin. I want her to know that she is beautiful just the way she is.
